Contracts in OppLogix are generated from customizable templates with automatic merge tag population. They're always linked to a deal and can be downloaded as PDF or Word (.docx) documents.

Contracts List

The Contracts page shows all contracts across your organization.

1
Navigate to Contracts in the sidebar.
2
Use the search bar to find contracts by name, company, deal, or contract number.
3
Filter by status (Draft, Active, Executed, Expired, Terminated).
4
Click column headers to sort by contract number, name, company, status, or dates.
5
Use the action buttons to view, preview PDF, download Word, upload executed, or delete a contract.

Generating a Contract

Contracts are generated from within a Deal Workspace using contract templates you've set up in Settings.

1
Open a Deal and go to the Contracts tab.
2
Click + Generate Contract.
3
Select a contract template from the dropdown.
4
Enter the contract name and set the effective date and term (duration).
5
Optionally add a Partner Reference # (your customer's PO number or reference).
6
Click Generate — OppLogix fills in all merge tags with data from the deal, contact, and company.

Merge Tags

Contract templates use merge tags to automatically populate deal, company, and contact information. Tags use the format {{Object.field}}.

1
Company fields{{Licensee.name}}, {{Licensee.address}}, {{Licensee.city}}, etc.
2
Deal fields{{Deal.title}}, {{Deal.value}}, {{Deal.expected_close_date}}
3
Quote fields{{Quote.total}}, {{Quote.subtotal}}, {{Quote.tax}}
4
Contract fields{{Contract.number}}, {{Contract.effective_date}}, {{Contract.term}}
Both {{Licensee.}} and {{Company.}} work interchangeably for backward compatibility.

Contract Numbering

Each contract receives an auto-generated number in the format PREFIX-YYYY-NNNN (e.g., OL-2026-0001). The prefix is configurable per contract template.

1
Numbers are sequential per organization, prefix, and year.
2
Contract numbers are immutable once assigned — they cannot be changed.
3
Configure the number prefix when creating or editing a contract template in Settings.

Contract Statuses

Contracts progress through a lifecycle of statuses.

1
Draft — Initial state after generation. The contract can be edited.
2
Active — The contract is in effect.
3
Executed — Both parties have signed. Upload the executed copy for record-keeping.
4
Expired — The contract term has ended. OppLogix auto-terminates expired contracts daily.
5
Terminated — The contract was ended before its natural expiration.

Downloading & Uploading

Contracts can be downloaded in multiple formats and signed copies can be uploaded back.

1
Preview PDF — Opens a PDF preview in an in-app modal.
2
Download Word — Downloads as a .docx file for further editing.
3
Upload Executed — Upload a signed copy (PDF) of the contract for your records.
The Partner Reference # field is useful for recording your customer's internal PO number, contract reference, or approval code.
